BE never could but always thought he would just back off as he hadn't got a clue as to how to respond to something he said that was so dumb. Truth is he never learned any French in all the years he spent in total here, well apart from ordering a beer or pizza, so he never really knew how France was run anyway. Naturally in cases like that, BE just made things up and therefore could never back up his words.
I assume from your post that you know BE personally ?
I suspect not( but please prove me wrong).
On n'avance pas le Schimilblick with comments like that. Just my 2c.
He doesn't know him personally, it's baggage from elsewhere.
It would be good if we could leave our baggage from the past outside the door.
It would also be good to remember that this is the new French forum and not the new French speakers forum. A point I am acutely sensitive to. OH had no opportunity to learn a foreign language at school. Now very deaf ( I refrain from profoundly deaf but she cannot be far off) it is a struggle to assimilate the language. Would her views not count equally to other even if we disagree?
It is a pity that BE has decided not to defend his assertion, but that does not in itself invalidate the assertion.

Luvvy, our baggage is what makes us. Cant be left behind as tabula raza is hardly practical or achievable.

In your case Timoth, I am prepared to make an exception.

Not really baggage, more like recognising a familiar MO. FFS is hardly innocent himself in the baggage dept concerning BE and has issues with Omegal so on and on we go yawn.....4 times edited now oh well. 5 times now and what is the point of highlighting the edited total?

It does seem pointless, I think I might hold the record though for correcting one of my posts especially if it is longish post and I couldn’t be bothered to find my glasses ...then when I do find them, I can see the mistakes I’ve made so then the OCD kicks in and the mistakes have to be corrected including in the ones subsequently quoted

Wow, what a lot I missed! I do get bored when people drag the past up, especially from elsewhere.
