Post by mysty »

Who would have thought you could blow your house up with a fly swatter and live to tell the story. ;)

A so much more attention grabbing headline than man blows up home due to gas leak.

He should be imprisoned and fined heavily for attempting to kill a fly; they do, after all, have a right to life, reproduction and to inundate the planet with their presence!

I will admit to once having purchased an electric fly swat.

I can’t remember having ever succeeded in taking out a fly with it. Not fit for purpose.

Something else destined for Landes Partage.

I’m pretty nifty with them, part of my armoury against wasps - got 2 wasps with ours yesterday.

That man was very lucky to escape with few injuries!

I loved the last line of the story.

The only way they make sense to me is if they will kill the fly even if you miss it. Otherwise an ordinary and much cheaper device is better. Having said that, we have one of those industrial type zappers with a pair of UV bulbs that attract flying insects toward a high voltage screen. The sound of them exploding or fizzing is so much more satisfying that just smacking them and making a mess on the wall.
