I could answer with saying try running a business in current circumstances with the added ‘pleasure’ of a low unreliable income. None of it is fun aardvark but a lot of people are retired and their time is their own, I think that is something to consider lucky, that’s all and that’s what I meant. I was not meaning anything else by my comment. And I have lived on not very much at all and had very little and I mean very little but I considered myself lucky then. We weren’t doing very much, had very little but had each other and two great dogs, I guess it is just how you look at things. So I have been there, done that and got the t shirt and who knows, it might happen to us again, it only needs one bad investment but if it does, I’ll still likely have the same mind set.

I couldn't comment about how "running a business" is difficult. I was always well below that level. Looking for employment to pay my bills and keep afloat. Lots of ups and downs, mostly downs after Thatcher. At rock bottom now but looking on the bright side. Unless Brexit moves the goal posts or Boris's lot decide to cut the state pension its not going to get any worse. Happy days.

IMO anyone who gets an income that he/she doesn't have to work for is lucky and I count myself amongst them. As for entrepreneurs, hats off to them. Never knowing if their business will keep going. Much harder than being an employee.
