I lived near Brive (close to Objat ) for 8 years nice place
Saturday Market was terrific :D
Yep, I like Brive too.
By contrast, Tulle down the road is a dump imo.

See how lucky you feel when the pain kicks in.

Luck is a form of art; by and large you make your own.

I am hoping the lack of pain in the elderly in my family is heritadery :P

As to making your own luck, I am not a big subscriber to that idea...recession, Thatcher, Brexit, covid, none of that was within my control.

We're all living the dream.... It's just half the time it's a nightmare. 😄
There's a cracking boulangerie somewhere along that road if I remember correctly, we spent a fair amount of time there while our last dog was having radiotherapy.

If I was fit enough to work for money I'd be happy. Try living on a low fixed income. Then see how lucky you feel.
Visit historic Barnard Castle. Lockdown day trips now available.

I suppose that I should be thankful to MT in that it was her policies that made me want to leave England for good.
CV ? If you don’t want it then stop mixing with the hoi-polli.

I could answer with saying try running a business in current circumstances with the added ‘pleasure’ of a low unreliable income. None of it is fun aardvark but a lot of people are retired and their time is their own, I think that is something to consider lucky, that’s all and that’s what I meant. I was not meaning anything else by my comment. And I have lived on not very much at all and had very little and I mean very little but I considered myself lucky then. We weren’t doing very much, had very little but had each other and two great dogs, I guess it is just how you look at things. So I have been there, done that and got the t shirt and who knows, it might happen to us again, it only needs one bad investment but if it does, I’ll still likely have the same mind set.

Hoi poli? We have to meet people, no choice but take all the precautions we can.
