Why are you so surprised!

Politics and cronyism has existed long before this lot, they just ramped it up to a higher level.
Not sure many are surprised...

I think most of us have known for years that this has gone on, and that in relaity UK politicians are as potentially as corrupt as politicians elsewhere in the world.

What I am finding surprising is the somewhat laissez-faire attitude being displayed to it all by "the media" and in turn most of the general population......

When only 6 mps were jailed for fraud it became clear that one law exists for the proles and another for the lofty. Those 6 were sacrificed to quell the disquiet but instead of being a wake up call, standards and ethics have been on a downward spiral since.

Such a shame that there is so little backbone left in the population to stand up and show their disgust at the corruption. They just suck it up and watch netflix ordering junk food for home delivery. Happy days.
Visit historic Barnard Castle. Lockdown day trips now available.

That's a bit of a generalization. Covid 19 notwithstanding the population of Scotland have been taking to the streets in their 10 of thousands every month in protest and in the last 7 elections have overwhelmingly rejected Westminster parties. That and pizza and Netflix are not mutually exclusive.
In England too there are huge demonstrations, anti brexit, pro NHS, etc that go unreported by a compliant media.
