Talking to yourself

We were in our old cafe this morning, where we used to know most of the regulars.
One man who was there probably in his mid sixties was talking to himself and definitely not on a phone.
Four years ago he was not doing that.
My dad did that in his fifties.
Do you think there is an age that kicks in and will it come to all of us?

I used to notice a lot of women talking to themselves in Carrefour. In between consulting their lists.
I talk to myself in my mind, but not aloud (?)
