LNB guru?

Post by Hal »

And another one. I think my LNB is failing.

Who makes the Chieftan Tank of LNBs please, regardless of cost if the most expensive is the best

Any answers please?

Fitted one of these over 5 years ago, brilliant and relatively cheap

When I was looking for a replacement LNB I searched the sat forums and found that Inverto was a highly regarded brand. The one I bought is still fine after 8 years now. The even better news was it wasn't much more expensive than the cheap ones.

Thanks. I remember now this question was bounced around some years ago with Inverto being the choice.

If you are to consider a new freesat receiver in the coming weeks or months, you may wish to look at wide band LND's. These, and a newer receiver will allow the recording of 4 progs at the same time, subject to finding 4 progs worth recording.

OK, now you are getting too technical!

But no, it is the good old Samsung TVs with built in Freesat.

Again but, do people record programmes these days? I rely on the iplayers and all the other libraries we are bombarded with. Come to think of it, I cannot remember the last time I used a DVD, and certainly not a CD!

We had a renowned and celebrated local satellite specialist in to sort out our dish alignment after a roofer had obviously given it a nudge, and he advised that all the LNB's available, cheap or expensive on ebay, amazon or wherever are good to go for many years, as long as the cable entry is sealed properly to keep the water out.

I remember it all now. The reason I did not go Inverto was that I need six outlets and Inverto max is or was, 4. So I had to buy an unknown.

What about these bars you mention before - could I use one with two Invertos, or will it throw everything out of tune?
