How long did you have a second home in France?
18 years coconier, but have had numerous visits of 3 weeks at a time for the previous 23 years. Daughter had her third birthday on our first visit she is now 44! We never intended to live in France permanently because we found it too bureaucratic and looking into taxes etc too expensive, except house taxes! We were going to leave when I was 65, this became 72! Please, if all your reply is going to be is acerbic (not you coconier!) keep it to yourself. It makes the forum look an unwelcoming place and, as far as I'm concerned, it is water off a duck's back. :lol:

When I read second home owners whinging about having a second home, in france, it makes me wonder why they bothered in the first place.

I don't see anything in the thread that could have prompted the second homes outburst. Regardless, second home or not, you're entitled to an opinion surely?
