I am not a pet lover, so any restriction is welcome by me.This after staying in a so called pet friendly hotel, which was absolutely disgusting pet hairs everywhere and allowed people to bring their pets into the self service breakfast area
Yet you will be at no health risk from the pets. From humans? Coronavirus, C Difficile and other gastro-intestinal illnesses, colds, flu, hep A, helicobacter, campylobacter. I could go on; in fact I will. Staph Aureus, bed bugs, hair lice.

Filthy creatures, humans.

And they said nothing would change. ;)
It took years for pet owners to be able to take their pets on holiday now it will take months if you want to take them.
Health insurance, get it in place before you go.

Much of it has been seen before but has anything in the links been confirmed? Too many 'mays' and 'mights' being used.

Is the information on the government website at present, last updated in 2019. As I read it once the initial vaccination and blood test are done as long as the rabies vaccinations are kept up to date travel shouldn't be much different to current rules. Most people who have a pet they want to bring on holiday will be thinking ahead so there will be inconvenience and bit more expense but it will be doable. The vet check sounds similar to the one done now going to the UK, just 10 days before travel.
Elizabeth, I do hope it doesn't put your family off having another dog, that would be very sad.

I heard all this on the LBC radio this morning, discussed and specifically confirmed. They usually check their sources before broadcasting so I won't be waiting for any links before I believe it, like some people.

I was listening to snippets on the news yesterday - I have not worked out fulll issues so would be interested in opinions from those that have.

Many of these issues like EHICs and Pet Passports apply seamlessly to many countries outside of EU.

So I cannot see where the issue lies - is it the Cummings "no jurisdiction from European Court" or is it Barnier "punish the UK for leaving EU"?

Which countries outside the EEA can use pet passports? And which non EEA countries have a European Health Insurance Card? Don't just say Switzerland obviously.

Pet passport rigmarole is just another of those backward steps to "The Good Old Days". Exactly what used to happen up to the mid-90's before the UK joined the Pet Passport scheme.

Well you have named one straight off - so it is possible to use both outside of EU!

Thus my question remains, is it Cummings or Barnier behind this?

She is feeding the roses so you have me and its not pasta.

Cummings 100% at fault.

The UK are rule makers not takers.

Who could trust any of them.

Back at you sir. ;)
