Comet Neowise

Post by Jackie »

Very impressive - well worth getting up at 4am to see! Will look it’s best over the next 3 nights. Stand with the Plough in front of you and rotate about 45 degs to the right and its not too far above the horizon. You can’t miss it really, big long tail.

I'm stuck. I moved my plough on Friday to mow under it so I've lost the point of reference. :(

I'm stucker than you. Unless I need a peepee at 4 am I've no chance of getting up. Even then, it's only 50/50.

😆 We had to set the alarm otherwise no chance. I’d already had 2 peepees by then.....

Surely you can't see the mountain in the dark?

After a couple of fails due to cloudy nights managed to see it this AM despite/through haze and very thin high cloud..it's v low on the horizon from where we are (about 43 degrees north) and there's some light pollution to the north but even so the tail is just visible to naked eye, and it's impressive through binoculars..first "proper" naked eye comet we've had for some time..

Would now really appreciate some proper clear skies overnight..
