Before I retired I was running a dept for a UK oil service company which was taken over by a US outfit. Their Energy Division, to which we were answerable to was based in Houston, Texas and would occasionally call us regarding our overseas contracts. I was working late-ish one night when the phone rang and the call was from the Houston boss's PA enquiring if so and so was around to speak to her boss. I told her no he wasn't and she was lucky to talk to anyone as we're six hours ahead of you and it's 7pm here. She was astounded and I had to tell her a couple of times before she's accept what I said.
