You've got to be kidding, women are the worst! OH is always complaining that threads on LIFT (Ladies In France Together) are regularly closed because of bitchy and often personal comments.

I was born grumpy so that's my excuse. :D

It's about 50/50 I reckon.
LIFT is a scarey place tim17, there are some spectacular arguments there!
Don't know about men getting grumpier with age - my OH has but his best mate has mellowed beyond belief!

What did I say?  I'll rephrase it
OH's pal used to have the shortest fuse of anyone I've ever met. Now he can sometimes be calmed down rather than abandoned and left alone for a few hours!

I think certain women here - and certain men - seem to be quite aggressive.

I suppose women notice it in men more than in women, and men in women.
Same old nonsense.

To answer the OP's question in a serious way.................
I don't think there is a particular age when grumpiness kicks in. The point in time will be when a person is less distracted by making a living, battling adversity, taking care of responsibilities, or chasing unattainable dreams. This is usually after retirement when that person has more time to look around and see all the crap that is going on around him. This deeper awareness combines with the realisation that the person at this late stage has no power to change things and his/her voice is neither heard nore respected. Welcome to "Grumpiness". :x

I don’t think I’m grumpy or at least, any grumpier now than I was in my youth. Maybe I’m less tolerant of certain things as I get older but not grumpy.
Er indoors is grumpy and her grumpiness seems to accumulate and worsen after a few months until a kind of boiling point is reached. I make it known that she is becoming difficult to be with and realises this and mellows immediately.
