If you want your eyes opened read ‘This is going to hurt ‘ by Adam Kay

Or, if you really want them opening, you might try going into Casualty at St Thomas'
on a Friday or Saturday evening.

In her early days in the NHS as a medical secretary, MOH found one of those things in her desk drawer, she thought at the time "funny looking doorknob"

OK - so who would want the knee / hip replaced under local anaesthetic only?
Hip and knee operations 'should be done under local anesthetic to help cut carbon emissions'
see: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/0 ... tudy-says/
Switching 1 million hip and knee operations to local anaesthetic would save the equivalent of 7.3 million miles driven in a car
For me - it would be general or nothing I think - especially having listened to my last boss describing his hip replacements.

I had carpel tunnel seen to on left arm under local. That was fun.
I could not warm to the idea of it being used for anything much more complex.
It all seems to be a bit of a trade-off between different types of discomfort.
The Present is rushing in and is under construction.
See writers later if you really want to fec your head up
