Was this demonstration in the French capital a one-off event, or the start of a wave? For the moment, nobody knows.

Is this new? Algeria protestors disappeared in the early 60s at the hands of the Police:

So maybe we need a broader analysis?

The disappearance of the Algerians has been known about for a long time; it was murder by the police, pure and simple.

Absolutely. But in the context of more general Police violent misbehaviour it demonstrates that it is not some recent thing.

To be honest if people were not involved in drugs and crime around Paris this would not be happening.
It's pretty rare for a Parisian baker being chased by the police.
