Tablet problems

Post by curtis »

I have had an inexpensive (£100) Amazon Fire tablet for about four and a half years; No problems.
I listen to the radio at night and occasionally in the day time . It's a chance to catch up on a bit of UK/world news.
Over the last two days the BBC Radio 4 live and podcasts have been dropping out and then stopping all together. I have tried it on France Musique and it is the same. testing it back to back with my PC there is no problem and the programme continues with out a break.
The tablet shows a full signal.
Any ideas? Is it something inside that is now not functioning and I will have to bin it ?
Just to add, general use , googliing, can work OK although slower than it was sometimes.

Update problem of the dedicated operating system? Reinstall audio drivers? Accidentally checked a box in a hidden menu? Amazon helpdesk or faqs somewhere at their website?

Unlikely to be anything with the hardware. I agree with RA. I would try Amazon Fire help first

What I have just done is to clear the tablet back to the original factory settings and started again. It still does it.
Will see what FAQs come up with if I can find them .

Curtis, what software are you using? Is it TuneIn?

I have found plenty of problems with non-Amazon software.
Same old nonsense.

I'm with you now.

I don't know why you might be experiencing intermittent problems like that
but I would recommend you try TuneIn. It's free and it seems to work well for me, UK and France.

Other similar radio apps are available, of course.

Amazon forum suggest switching the WiFi connection on and off if the problem is there. That doesn't do anything;

I have downloaded the Tunein app and the problem is still there. Have tried several stations. On the PC no problem.
