I think there's an age allowance too.
Plus various allowances for UK-derived income.

They are mentioned here https://www.french-property.com/guides/ ... llowances/

Near the bottom of section 5.3.2, but I think some of the figures are wrong, not changed since last year.

Well if the tax man is happy with the calculation, then so am I. Thanks for all the posts. Tom that is a very useful simulator, and as Nomoss posted all is explained below the workings of the calculation. I saw something mentioned about a flat tax for next year on investment income, and the need to opt out if you do not want to be taxed that way, just more hassle to deal with for next year I guess.
I hope that I can live long enough to see the young generation 'Take back control'

I still paper declare but my understanding is that if you declare on line it automatically calculates you liability,
Unfortunately, only if you have "uncomplicated" income, otherwise you have to wait for the avis.

Hi,
This figure is also published in "Le Particulier" magazine , and they say it takes into account all the various income based abattements , including the decote : I am sure it is a very complex calculation ,and I don't intend to waste time trying to work it out -I'll take their word for it.

Mine is simple and the calculation is complicated enough - equations - I never got the hang of them. See what happens and then go and sort it if you dont agree is my advice - meanwhile kickback and relax for the 8-) summer

Unfortunately that simulator does not work for those with various foreign government pensions, etc. e.g .1AL/1BL on 2042 There are possibly other foreign income cases which cause it to fail.

Yes it falls over when I enter an amount under 8T1 but in that case I know it does not affect the tax that I dont pay or the social charges that I do and its not enough to change my tax band so the simulation without it has been spot on so far.
