I still often check the exchange rate although we don't have a french bank account now.It's creeping up at the moment. But nothing like what it has been if you look at the 10 year graph:

What happened in 2015 which made it good for sterling?
As far as I remember it was good in 2006 too when we sold our first house in France.

If you look at the Swiss Franc (what interests me) you will see that is also strengthening vs Euro - the issue is Eurozone weakness I think more that a new-found faith in Boris's economic acumen.
Prime Minister Ed Milliband didn't happen.
