If you had been able to describe the crime scene in a way that didn’t make it sound like the normal everyday business of a number of small indigenous mammals then you might have received the answer you were searching for. As it happened a very wishy washy OP morphed into a bit of harmless fun.
In my garden some unknown furry creature(s) often crap in holes made by dogs where there have been molehills. I’m pretty sure the sausage shaped smelly stuff found there doesn’t come from a dog or a mole so there are probably three different animals involved in the crime scene. Isn’t nature wonderful.
