Maricopa, thanks for your suggestion of using Debra's link, it took some finding but I managed to track it down. I put in my postcode and was pleased to see that supposedly I can apply for our CSs at one of the sous-prefecture's offices, unfortunately when I go to the website it points me to the prefecture's office in Niort. So it looks like a long round trip if we want to apply.

Having read all the posts here and on another thread I have decided to wait.
If I believe the perveyors of doom and gloom I will probably be amongst those rounded up and loaded into cattle wagons then transported back to the land of the Brexiteers. Looking forward to the adventure.

I had a look around Debra's link to see if I would have to go to the regional Prefecture or could apply at the sub prefecture which is quite close. Couldn't find that info but had a quick look at the long lists of required documents. I ran across this one
"Justificatifs de la continuité de votre séjour pendant 5 ans en France : 1 document par semestre (quittances de loyer ou de charges, factures...)"
What is a semester? From memory I think it is a fractional part of a year but not sure.

No, just means you know you'll get one and won't get thrown out if you can prove something on the list - and the last one is having an EU cds :)
