Adieu cocottes et cheminées...

Not sure where to put this, as no categories seemed to fit. So apologies if it's in the wrong place

Yes, folks; Logis hotels are undergoing a radical new presentation.

"100% de nos établissements ont été visités et reconsidérés avec leur propriétaire pour rendre mieux compte de leur particularité."

No longer will a simple casserole tell you if the food is worth eating: now the restaurants will be categorised as:
“...restaurants de Terroir, les restaurants Gourmands ou bien Savoureux, ainsi que les Tables Distinguées ou d’Exception.”

And gone is the familiar fireplace logo. From now on you will have to select a hotel among the descriptions: " Essentiel, Cosy, Elégance ou Exception."

We have not been in everyone but some tend to be a bit dated and grubby and I am no snob. 8-)

I agree misty. A lot of them had become pretty disappointing. I think 100% inspection is no bad thing.

Agree, it used to be the look for sign in our touring days. Nowadays, some are simply shabby. Additionally, sometimes the emphasis on local dishes can result in a quite limited menu.

I wonder if they will have a category for "faded brown wallpaper", gloomy stairwells, and wobbly power points?
I remember, in one, having to plug my hairdryer in on one side of the room with the combined width of the double bed AND of the bathroom (beyond its open door) between me and a mirror.
