Mayhem and trouble on the way

Post by mysty » Wed Dec 04, 2019 11:14 pm

And that has nothing to do with forum members or albf making a surprise return again

By this time tomorrow, France will have experienced a bad day violence and demonstration wise.

The GJ said its make or break day for them, we are just staying local tomorrow in the Limousin countryside.

The demonstrators do have a point, why should we be paying such high taxes and fuel duty when the superrich like Mogg, Google and the likes avoid paying their fair share of taxes.

France does seem to be a country of high taxation. Germany is not dissimilar, where it's not unusual for mid to high earners to see 50 percent of their salary gone in deductions. Not so much protestation there, but I understand the people appreciate that they have to pay for very good public services.

And it might be more than one day as several unions have mentioned an illimited strike !
You learn from your mistakes but it's much quicker and cheaper to learn from the mistakes of other people ! :D

I will be arriving at Coquelles into the thick of it, have clients arriving tomorrow night, can afford 90 minutes of delays beyond that there will be some unhappy campers. Think I have enough diesel for the journey and have a couple of jerrycans in reserve at the hôtel, it will be good to use them as last time lurgies were growing inside.

Good luck, hope all goes well; don’t forget to put your GJ on the dashboard!

Good luck LD, but if you are delayed there is a good chance your clients will be as well.

Never in a million years would I do that and I have scorn for those that did and then criticised the GJ's.
