My comment was tongue in cheek, Ats, I used the Internet to find the original problem, remembering only the beginning.

It looks as though some posters here need more of a challenge!

I got 40, and 96, no problem, but I don’t get 201.

So maybe some easy for some of us and harder ones for the clever people. 😀

Did you read the explanation? I can accept that answer as, like 40 and 96, the person giving that answer has explained their reasoning. That’s fine. For me the only answer that I like is 96 because as someone who looks for patterns in numbers that is the only pure reasoning. The only times that I have ever found something as odd as the 201 explanation was when I was told that 00 model railways are built as a scale of 4mm:an inch and when helping a friend to put the roof on his house he gave a measurement as 1 metre 18 inches.
