Thank you. Can you provide some idea of their fee structure? Is it flat rate or a percentage or what? I'll then take a look at their website and get back to you, chrisell.

No problems - their recent 'outage' was well communicated by email and via their app.
Ah, there's the rub ... although I use them all the time I received absolutely no communication from them at all about this and there was nothing about the outage when I logged into my account.
And I couldn't set anything up at all.
Contact us was greyed out but I did manage to send them an email this morning.

Okay - figures from this second

£1000 - fee is £4.29 - £995.71 converted at 1.155 = 1150.50 Euros

At £10K - fee is £35.68 - Euros just shy of 11509.

Fee reduces slightly as amounts increase - but its always been better value than the spreads from what I can see.

The front page gives you accurate conversions.

Had exactly the same problem yesterday after lunch so I rang them up. They asked me to log in again and waited while I did so. This time the "send money" page opened correctly and the transaction went through; very friendly and effective customer service.

I've used HiFX in the past. Taking £10,000, Transferwise are quoting a € exchange rate of 1.15500 whereas HiFX are quoting 1.1268. Those produce, respectively, €11 508.79 and € 11 268.00 - a difference of some 240€. I think that it's time for me to change currency dealers!

I changed from Currencies Direct two years ago to XE last year, it seems that TW offer the most advantageous rate of all the money transfer brokers for small amounts.

I had some problems with an error message for a few hours. I was accessing the site on Mozilla Firefox. I switched to Google Chrome and it worked perfectly. Coincidence or are they having Firefox problems?
