Exposure.

We will probably see her soon on celebrity big brother with the teenager that the UK wont allow back from Syria.

I say we, I have never watched an episode of it or any of the genre apart from one time.
I'm confused, you say you have never watched a programme and then two post later tell us all about the programme and her? or is that the only one you have watched, if so you certainly retained a lot of information from one episode, she has been in lots of other episode's as well so not a set up I think.

I dont have the grammatical knowledge to explain in the correct terms but I said "I have never watched an episode of it", the "it" being the subject (if thats the correct term) of the preceding sentence, so "Big Brother"

I am very conscious that my English is getting worse, if the above is incorrect please tell me how I should have written it.

Your language was fine, I understood that you meant Big Brother.

"It" is a pronoun: We commonly use the pronoun it as both a subject and an object pronoun: by saying you have never watched an episode of "it" you are declaring you have never watched an episode of "Escape to the Chateaux" what would have made it clearer is, "I have only watched one episode of ........."

In this post Chancer is writing about Big Brother, nothing else. I suppose a pendant could complain that he did not use capital letters for the name of the show. Mind you I would have asked a 10 year old to uplevel the final sentence.

And she has been on Straw Dickbridges chateau program, showed her flouncing in for the weekend entertaining posh friends for some singles week-end, it all looked very contrived and the "friends" all looked like media types and hangers on of the program, she did not seem to know her way around the place at all and I suspected that it was all staged (well we know that they are all staged anyway) but I wondered if she was just an unknown actress and they had hired a chateau for a week-end brought in all their pals for a booze up and shot a couple of items to camera purporting to be the singles week-end.

And speaking of shooting items to camera some French porn films have been filmed in a location that looks identical (so I'm told  )

Now I am the one confused!

There was no mention of any other subject in my posting other than Big Brother.

The program you speak of is Escape to the chateau singular not chateaux plural

Can anyone adjudicate on what "it" referred to in my posting and whether it was written incorrectly?

I really would like to know.

Editted, what does "uplevel" mean? - No 10 year olds around to ask

I'm sure it means the final sentence was badly written, again please advise how it should be written.

Of course but what has that got to do with your complaint? That post was about Escape to the whatever, the other post was a suggestion that she might appear on Big Brother.
Chancer, up-leveling is a bit of Primary School speak related to the National Curriculum. The days of Draconian marking in red pen and telling the child that they are wrong are over, it was, (things have quite likely changed) more fashionable to highlight a weakness and offer the pupil the chance to improve it themselves. The idea being that they will reconsider the syntax, the vocabulary, verbs and tense used and come back with something that would score a higher level against a NC marking scheme.

I say we, I have only watched Big Brother or another show of that genre once.

The thread is about a particular woman from Escape to the Chateaux, and when referring to having never watched an episode or its "genre" one would naturally assume anyone using the syntax "it" or for that matter "genre" would be referring to the subject matter of the thread, but then you wouldn't just as an argument point. :D sure your not ALBF in another life.

I frequently misread and misinterpret stuff, its getting worse and I am conscious of it, as a consequence I read a posting several times before posting anything critical or contradictory, but I still get it wrong sometimes, good thing that my ego does not prevent me from acknowledging and apologising when I have done so.

Now clearly I cannot be objective about this question, two contributors have opposite views and there are accusations of pedantry and awkwardness, I really really would like to know if what I wrote was incorrect, I always look back in a text for the last object/subject mentioned, can anyone else tell me if what I wrote was incorrect and how it (that will be "what I wrote" :D ) should have been expressed?
