Oppressed?
Going back to "Aunt beams warmly" or "Aunt begs a heat", perhaps it's just me, but I can't see how "butane" is arrived at. I can see that the middle is an anagram of "aunt", but the rest?

AUNT BE (anagram of butane) GS A (gas) heat. Note to self .. Must do better.
