Fresh mackerel fillets - I think I'll just fry them.
With tagliatelli. And red pepper sauce which I made yesterday.
Another recipe for courgettes, similar to Mangetout's.
Heat oven 210F
Make a batter with 2 tbsp SR flour 2 eggs, 2 tbsp veg oil. s&p.
Add a large onion, finely chopped.
Add 500g courgettes, grated, moisture squeezed out.
You can also add grated potato and carrots.
Put mixture into lightly oiled baking tins, eg loaf tins, or foil containers, and bake for about an hour. You can smell when they're done.

Mushrooms, pasta, garlic, pesto, pine nuts and cream.

It would have been woodpigeon but the cat let me down.
Same old nonsense.

For lunch we had a green smoothie, but as we had no carrots or apples, which I normally put in it, I used a banana so it ended up a bit too sweet.

And yes, carrots aren’t green, but they add a good flavour.

A lamb stew with stacks if vegetables and lentils as it’s feeling chilly here, not at all as it should be in the middle-ish of August.

Emptying the freezer pre-defrosing so roast venison (courtesy of the chase last winter) with homegrown tatties and carrots followed by mirabelle (thanks to the neighbours last summer) crumble here today.
We're having a day off from courgettes!
