What bird could this be?

We are to the north of you and we have several flocks of fieldfares about just now. They are not as big as magpies and I have never seen numbers in thousands. Nonetheless, there are quite large flocks about which are tidying up after harvests.

They could be Fieldfares, though they did look bigger than magpies, but at speed and distance it is difficult tell.

The flock was massive but I haven't seen them now for a couple of days.
