The best singer/songwriters were in the 70s - Browne/Mitchell/Ian/McClean/Bowie. The only ones that hang onto their coat tails after that were Natalie Merchant/Sarah McCloughlin, can't think of any others. Amy Mcdonald's first LP was great but that's it.
