15 years to take a credit card number, I am a slow learner

This lady had a double barreled surname, she spelt out the D and the e and then said something incomprehensible for the seperation to the main surname, had to ask her to repeat several times, thought it might be the tiret de six (-) but eventually she found another way to explain the gap.

When I hear it again I will understand and it will stick.

Another kilometre stone In breaking the linguistic sound barrier.
I heard a boom at the door so I answered it and some French bloke asked me if I was Monsieur whatever.
I replied in the negative. he then asked me if I knew were monsuier Gordon lived. I informed him that he had died two years ago but know where his son lived.
Simple pleasures.....I was rather chuffed. He seemed to understand me.

Crickey, it makes depressing reading. Let us fervently hope there is some wee grain of truth in the saying that it's always darkest just before dawn.

In our local Hyper U today 0.50 lt cans on offer at a price which works out at €1.56/lt. That's around £0.80/pint, I think. How good is that?

Lidle usually has six half litre can packs of good beer for about € 5 but in the spring has an offer at the same price for 8 can packs, that's when I stock up for the summer.

Did you see the clip of him last night talking about saltire flags in front of the Scottish section at the conference?
