Everything comes to he who waits, you wont be dissapointed, savour the anticipation, its a strange fixation that you have but I am happy to indulge you dear boy.

LD, jog whilst you can, it’s only when you no longer can do you realise how much you miss it. Keep your legs going.

Our new double oven has been sitting in the hall for a week waiting to be installed. Today OH and a friend who is here decorating the interior of the house successfully fitted it and tonight's dinner is currently cooking in said new oven. Thank goodness it's working because returning damaged goods that size to the UK isn't something I'd want to try.

I popped in to our son and DIL’s to congratulate our DIL on her success following a job interview. From Seotember she is going to be manager at the pre-school our granddaughters have attended, in fact our younger granddaughter leaves in July. It’s attached to the primary school, 20 hours all non-teaching; it’s come at just the right time as it wouldn’t have worked if our granddaughter was still attending when our DIL takes over.

I dropped off a birthday cake for my husband’s birthday family get-together on Sunday, all arranged at short notice as this year his birthday was going to be celebrated in France until he was taken ill. 75 years old, where did all that time go?our DIL will bring it round to our house on Sunday so it will remain a surprise.

Getting home alive, terrible driving conditions with torrential rain on the autoroute
The French obviously thought it was dry and were still doing 130 plus with almost zero visibility.

Just missing a hurricane in the North Atlantic. I say just missing - it's 500 miles away but we've got a force 9 going on out there with 8 metre seas and a howling gale.

Many passengers absent from breakfast and lunch. Presumably calling for Hughie down the big white telephone.

Those that are mobile are staggering around like a drunk going down a steep hill.

Never mind. Will be in Ireland the day after tomorrow. Splendid.
