Just arrived in the post a letter from the UK Gov OAP people telling me that I am worthy of another near £12 a week, yippee.

We both got a similar amount but in our cases it is a monthly increase - not so yippee

For the first time we have red kites nesting in an ash tree at the far end if our garden, just in the small ancient woodland.

This morning I not only saw an adult landing on the nest a few times, but saw a fledgling with its parents trying to encourage it to take off from the nest. So far it hasn’t taken any notice!

News item that a group of people from Rennes rented a house on the coast in Finesterre for the weekend. More than 100 people were invited via social media. When they reached the house after their 2hr drive the gendarmes were waiting for them and all 100+ were handed a 135€ fine and sent back to Rennes.

Note to organiser: Gendarmerie can access SM too
