Sun-dried laundry
Re: Sun-dried laundry
We have one of those rails on pulleys things that pulls up to the ceiling in front of the fire in the kitchen - the rails take a full load of washing, which is usually dry in less than 24hrs. We also have a tumble drier which is handy when I can't be bothered to hang them on the rail.

Re: Sun-dried laundry
I vowed that as long as I drew breathe I would never own or use a tumble drier or dishwasher.
I have remained true to my pledge for the latter but my resolve for the former did not last beyond the first day of changeovers for tourist bookings.
I now have a 5.6kw tumble drier which only just kept up with the peak demand pre Covid times

Re: Sun-dried laundry
We have a tumble dryer, usually use it to part-dry heavy items such a towels, which are then soft to the touch, especially if there's a decent breeze. I find that hot, sunny days leave towels etc scratchy, nasty.
I can’t bear nasty smelling washing powder/liquid - I can sometimes smell our neighbour’s washing when she puts it out, across a fair distance and a high fence between us, yuk! I don’t like the smell of whatever it is that our son and DIL use.

Have you tried folding clothes as they come off the line at -10C? Not so much dried as freeze dried.

Re: Sun-dried laundry
But they're beautifully soft when they defrost and, if they've been hung very straight, pre-ironed.
