Spain cracking down on Britons without rights to stay

It is just about arguable that one positive effect of Brexit was that the UK got going earlier on the vaccination front, without being tied in to an EU decision, and seems to be lighting the wick of the candle that is the light at the end of a very long tunnel, but that positive effect is severely compromised by the number of people who've died since the start of the crisis, when EU funding was no longer available for the UK to help to make things better in the beginning.

The UK took its decisions when it was still under EU rules through the transition. Brexit did nothing to provide additional opportunities to the UK to go its own way. It was always allowed to do what it did and late in the day some other EU countries are doing the same thing now - Hungary and the purchase and use of Sputnik and Sinovax to name just one.
