A son to be proud of - I think he’s a good successor to Captain Tom.
I shed a few tears when I read that his neighbour, one of two people in whose memory he has slept in a tent for a year, had given him his tent before he died of cancer, telling him to have an adventure in it. What an adventure, and so much good done in their names, with the money raised going to the local hospice:

It can't all have felt like 'an adventure'. There must have been many times when this young man wondered why on earth he was doing what he was doing, sleeping outside in a tent in all conditions for a year.
I'm so pleased you added the link niemeyjt because I've just been able to add a bit to his incredible total.
