closing a CA account

Post by PatF » Wed Jun 13, 2018 12:49 pm

Does anyone know if there's a fee to close a CA account? CA Mutuelle Pyrenees.
We're back in England, and I think (hope) all outstanding debts in France have been paid. Their fees are 7,88 a month, so now a waste of money.
We're not likely to go back there now.

I am going back a few years - all I had to do was handwrite a letter in French confirm the name of the account and number I wished closed and where I wanted anyremaining funds held to be transferred to and that is all Idid and they didnt charge. Things may have changed since then.

CA is divided into 39 regions, each one of which is largely independent and has its own rules. Only a CA bank in your own region can give you a definitive answer.

Correct. My account was in dept. 22 and it was a nightmare lasting over three months to get them out of my hair.

Its a bind with CA being regional, takes longer to change branches if moving to a different region.
So far we've had vg service from them though.
Just closed an account in midi Pyrenees, no prob.

We received this message from our CA agent last week, she writes in english. What does it mean?. She still hasn't closed our account:
"I wait the reimbursment for the share to close your account."
No idea what the 'share' is.

I would simply suggest that you just ask her to explain what reimbursement she is waiting for. I can only remember one bank account not being shut immediately when asked but that was because it was an account that earned interest and they had to wait until the end of month to close it.
