Artwork on buildings

Did a u-turn to snap a few photos of this, I thought that it was very well done. Would enjoy walking past it every day.

We love Street Art - This part of Nouvelle Aquitaine has some great examples:

The parts I visited had some very run down & deserted town centres full of empty derelict shops, the municipalities had boarded most of them up and employed graffeurs to decorate them with a consistent theme, it was very striking and effective and you could only imagine how horrible the places would have looked without the temporary makeovers many of which sadly looked to be permanent.

They were both inspiring and saddening at the same time, the artwork was superb but I'm sure everyone concerned would have preferred the commerces to be still running, many of the artworks were representations of what was lost & will probably never return.

Around my way the graffeurs are being used to jolly up the EDF poste de transformations and the good ones have a full order book stretching forward a couple of years.

I used to work with an artist who did set designs for the theatre. He could turn blank canvas into virtually anything.
