Mice anyone?
I have some large wine barrels planted with trees and shrubs. Massive things. Just found a mice nest in one of them. Happens every year. I normally just ignore it and wait until they vacate. Does anyone else experience this? Had them in window boxes one year - on the first floor! God knows how they got up there.
Re: Mice anyone?
Are you sure they are mice? voles also nest in such places, the only difference you may see voles eating you plants/grass roots.

Hadn't thought of that. I'll look at images of the 2 and see if I can force one out and look at it. This years nest is in a cherished climbing rose so I don't want to lose it.

Re: Mice anyone?
Mice must be one of the most virulent of species on this planet. As well as cockroaches and we human beings.
My piano was ruined by mice building nests with the felts . And they nearly ruined the electrics in our van.
The smell of their urine
I was once sat on the toilet in our newly refurbished bathroom and a little head popped out from between the skirting and the floor, No shame
