Welcome! I hope this works in your favour but if not, try to believe there's a better home just around the corner.

I agree, whenever I have lost out on property purchase I have ended up finding somewhere better. The reason being the property you lose sets a benchmark.

Can only agree with the last couple of posts. You’re a cash buyer, not in a chain and unlike the U.K., in France it’s a buyer’s market. I feel sure with the help of the internet you’ll find another property for the same price or maybe cheaper. However, I don’t recommend paying the asking price as it’s usual to offer around 70% of that, then negotiate.
Bon chance and bon weekend,

Yes, I believe you did, and to think I hadn't seen this forum before! Thank you, and I must admit how friendly everyone has been.
Just a quick update to all that did respond, the owner is going through with the sale of her holiday static! I can't tell you how happy I am. After looking at several last year and this year, I'm just so pleased we have the one we really wanted.
On her part it was just an emotional tie, and so many memories, which I could sympathise with, especially after ten years owning it.
But I can't wait now to get over there, most likely next year, to make it out own.
I shall definitely keep coming back to this forum tho, I'm bound to ask loads more questions. Lol!
