I think not, they make up 40% of new car sales while electric cars are at 2%.
Electric car prices need to come down and I do not think battery technology is up to speed yet.
They want to ban adverts for SUVs.

Surely the tree huggers can't expect Sloane Rangers and Hooray Henrys to give up their 4x4 for a Sinclair C5.
Visit historic Barnard Castle. Lockdown day trips now available.

4x4's are known as "pratmobiles" around here. Basically because they are never driven off road except for grass verges. Driven by "prats".
“Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

ATS drives a BMW x3 all wheel drive.
It's good on diesel and is ideal fro driving in the snow.
Will let her know she's a prats

4x4s are surprisingly common here in spite of this being the flattest and least snowy part of the country. Those used by the farmers tend to be Japanese pickups, the Land Rovers and BMWs belong to the aspiring middle classes. The badge is really important and Land Rover seems to have the greatest cachet in the Fenland.

I have a 4x4. Good ground clearance and excellent road holding in snow on our steep and mountainous roads. It doesn't go off road except for our drive - which admittedly at around 1 in 4 can be a challenge in winter.
But you are probably right in calling me a Prat. Who would want to drive a 17 year old Renault Kango?

Another Prat here
Lugging a horse trailer through fields is much easier when all the wheels are driven. Does the prattishness become less in relation to the age/shineyness of the vehicle?

Can’t be done. The like of the inhabitants of Kensington and Westminster need them in their Chelsea tractors in an attempt to ensure that if they have an accident when delivering their spawn to and from school etc. they will be less at risk of injury.
