Drive a steam train for a day- Sommes/Amiens area.

Post by Fitter »

I wandered on to this website somehow - very interesting, museum, working locomotives all run by volunteers.

http://www.appeva.org/votre-journee-sur-la-locomotive/

9:00 am: Arrival at the P'tit train depot, team presentation, safety training.
9:30 am: Preparation and lighting of the locomotive: sweeping, cleaning, etc.
12 noon: Meal in common with the volunteers.
1:00 p.m .: Lubrication of the locomotive and head of the train.
2:00 p.m .: First departure, circulation until 6:00 p.m. / 6:30 p.m. according to schedules.
6:00 p.m. / 6:30 p.m .: Storage of the train and locomotive at the depot, end around 6:30 p.m. / 7:00 p.m.

Price is apparently only €115

Wow, great idea for a present!

I have been on the train (not on the footplate though!), and it is a fun ride through field and forest.
