I agree with you on some of those names but reckon that things have changed dramatically from say 15 years ago compared to today.
Perhaps our memories just fade - mine has - as I recon Alan Walters clashed with at least one Chancellor, possibly Nigel Lawson, and got him fired - and that must be 30 years ago.
Or Lawson got himself fired, depends on what you think of him I reckon on that one.

Just read this (yes, my bedtime reading :D ), thought you might be interested given the above. https://blogs.lse.ac.uk/politicsandpoli ... al-danger/, the comments are interesting too.

If you listen carefully to the news reports from outside No 10, from within the building you can just make out the sound of a barrel being scraped.
Or could it be that the barrel is being tapped and they are toasting the new arrivals?
Yes, let’s raise a glass to the new brain dead zombies.

Another assessment from Dougan, “New Attorney General is the worst kind of fourth-rate lawyer: utterly lacking in ability or depth, but just enough technical vocabulary to express their political bigotry in a way that "sounds legal". How diabolically yet deliberately devoid of talent is the Johnson Government...”

Yes - but just look at how many of the "diversity" boxes she ticks. Skills are a secondary matter nowadays.

You forgot Rees-Mogg: understandable as I’d like to forget him too.

Never thought the day would come when I missed Geoffrey Cox.

My wife described several members of the cabinet, including Johnson, as ‘hebetudinous’ (I had to look it up as well, it’s now my new, favourite word). Pretty impressive as her first language is Russian. I’ve asked her if she can find out what D Cummings was up to in Moscow in the 90s.

Yes - as I have said before, perhaps all the shenanigans last year will turn out to have been a pyhrric victory for the remainers who thwarted Mrs May only to get BoJo installed instead.

Oh no you don’t. Everything that is going to go wrong is all down to leavers and who voted for the Tories, don’t try and blame anyone else that did not roll over and give in and could see what the future would be.

Top marks to “Bob”.
His cartoons are brilliantly devised.
And perhaps I am not the only one on here subscribing to the DT?

I don't subscribe - but either the security settings on this new PC get round the PayWall or they have removed it.

I do like Matt as well, so in that vein:
