We tiled the floor a couple of weeks ago it took six bags of self leveling then double glued the tiles.
Double gluing is you cover the floor with tile glue then glue the tile it gives you a lot more wriggle room and its rock solid.

I fitted the skirting yesterday 7 euros a piece but looks nice

The tiles were not cheap but they look good and will not show the dirt there is about eight different patterns, they look old

Do you use the sawdust method for finishing the grout Mysty?

I know sawdust is the proper way, I just use an almost dry sponge to wipe the tile down without touching the grout.
The trick is to change the water several times. it took about two and a half hours to wash down.
Sawdust probably takes two minutes.

I would not say its the proper way but its what the ahem "pros" around here do and it does indeed take only 2 minutes including the clean up so its clear why they do it.

For me after days on my hands and knees it was just so nice to do the final finishing standing up and for something finally to be so quick.

Mines been down 12 years now and looks as good as new, if I got down with a magnifying glass I could still see some sawdust particles within it.

Done after just the right amount of drying it polishes the tiles superbly, no going over with a mop afterwards.

Double gluing is definitely the way for the likes of us to do it, a good carreleur if he has laid the chape and ragréage and knows that it is spot on and who keeps a consistent cement thickness will be able to do as good a job much quicker by single gluing.

The art is identifying where the high spot is or high spots are and using them as the datum reference.

I am itching for a project, bored stiff with cleaning, changeovers and meet n greets, I would love to do some more tiling, not a huge broing area but something really challenging and maybe artistic, I love doing block paving.
