Saw the interview with Odey and thought yep, odious man, good article.
In the parallel universe inhabited by Brexiteers rationality and logic are increasingly inverted if not outright subverted.

Behind a paywall but if you subscribe you can read a number of articles each week free.

“The natural result of constitutional vandalism on this scale is that conventions have hardened into law. That is the effect of the Supreme Court’s decision. It is infinitely regrettable that it should have come to this, but better than leaving a void governed by neither convention nor law, in which the government can do whatever it likes.

The moral is that under our constitution 52 per cent cannot expect to carry off 100 per cent of the spoils. They have to engage with the rest. That is what parliament is for.”

We've had two lots of visitors this summer, both in the remain camp. One couple run a business, another couple well paid execs. But sadly both have fallen into the trap that I always feared. They're tired of it all and just want it over and done with. So as natural conservstive voters, they'd vote for them again. And worse, chatting on the subject it's clear that they are still Brexit virgins when it comes to their knowledge on the subject. I despair.

Who was it that said, "keep telling the same lie until people believe it" ? or something along those lines.

I completely understand that point of view. Three years of almost complete stagnation in terms of government action and we're about to enter massive financial problems. And an unelectable opposition.
Same old nonsense.

To give up opposing Brexit now or failing to demand another vote means an awkward moment when a youngster asks “but why didn’t people do more to stop it”....

If this guy at 91 is willing to get out and make a stand for what he believes then so can we all.
Yes, I have just posted this below on another thread but the guy deserves it :P .
