Praying for whatever's wrong and also that you have peace - it must be a great worry.

We got home from the vets this afternoon with confirmation that she has a broken tail. She came home on Friday evening with a massive swelling hard as a ball and the size of a tennis ball on her back where the tail joins, her tail hanging down no movement in it. It scared me half to death as I thought it was a terminal problem. She continued to eat, drink, wee & poo but couldn't sit properly and she was obviously in some pain. Anyhow we've spent the weekend getting up in the night making sure she was OK and filling up hot water bottles covered in fleece covers to keep her warm. Keeping the litter box refreshed and the floor roundabout cos she mainly missed the box when weeing and then caused a litter storm across the floor after her poos! We now have to give her some tablets twice a day and the vet said her tail will probably be paralysed - fingers crossed it wont be as she came home and the tail was swishing just a little. Sorry I've gone on a bit but I thank you all from the bottom of what was a broken heart when I first posted. You are all so kind and caring on this forum and I send you ALL a big kiss from the three of us and hopefully we will get a good night's sleep tonight. XXXX

Thank goodness it’s not a tumour etc, much better news but you’ve obviously had a rotten weekend trying to make her comfortable. Hoping you all get a better night tonight.

Poor thing - it could have been worse, so good news in that respect. Will still be praying that she gets back enough movement in her tail.

Thought that you might like an update on my little cat - all is going well. She runs to us putting her tail up and it still has the little curl on the top! So it would appear no paralysis. We've been giving her gentle massages and hot water bottles. Downside was the Kesium tablets she had to have twice a day for a week which did give her a bad dose of the squits which meant she sometimes didn't quite make the litter box but hey ho no problem cleaning up. Yesterday was 36 hours after the final pill and she was able to go and do her business in the garden and I'm pleased to say she is back to normal although what a stinker! Mr A now believes I am a qualified poo investigator - perhaps I could get a TV series like that woman a few years back (can't remember her name). Thanks to all once again for your kind thoughts and prayers. Mrs A xx
