Suffered a heart attack at 6am - Sappeurs first on scene followed by SAMU (Dr & Nurse) transported by Sappeurs to Motor way junction and transferred to ambulance for final, very fast journey to Bordeaux (Leveque) and rushed into surgery to receive life saving stent on collapsed artery.

Spent 6 days in Hospital, 3 in Intensive Care. - initially Leveque and transferred to Langon. About a month later received a bill for 1500 euros for the Ambulance - which almost gave me another heart attack - Swiss Life, our Mutuelle told us that it should have been sent direct to them. They paid it and contributed to the hospital costs not met by the State.

Strongly recommend Swiss Life :D :good: :good: :good: :good:

Glad the system worked for you! Swiss Life has a good reputation bit seems expensive. Will add to my comparison, thanks

As a total diversion to the subject your post made me smile broadly. A sapeur is also slang for a flamboyantly dressed african man, so I had a vision of you being escorted to hospital surrounded by colourfully dressed characters in very snappy suits!

Wonderful images - When you think you're dying and people are mobilising to save your life the images in my head were of 'Angels' - What fun it would be if they were as joyful and colourful as this super video. ;) ;) ;)

“Were you proposing to shoot these people in cold blood, sergeant?"
"Nossir. Just a warning shot inna head, sir.”
