Re: Do I need a smartphone?

A smartphone really isn't the ideal instrument if you just want to make and receive calls because it would be expensive and need charging more often then a simple non-smart handset. But that's not really the point of a smartphone which should more accurately, if cumbersomely, be called a small tabl...

Re: Do I need a smartphone?

Apart from they're so busy being everything else they make a crap phone they can be useful - more and more stuff is becoming smart phone driven so eventually ... That said I'm on a 15+ year old iPhone - no longer updates - every month another app stops working as they're updated to work with new ope...

Re: A UK will

I suspect you'll find the solicitor was paid simply to "notarise" the will - yes it was her - yes she signed - no she wasn't obviously nuts. What was written is irrelevant - they charge £20(ish) to simply stamp and sign nothing gets read or checked.

Re: Garage door opening dilemma

Don't "windows" as such start to create "habitable" space with all its implications? I've a similar "project" for next year - I'd sort of assumed I'd just build a "box" inside the barn - not have windows - retain the barn doors and not have to ask permission. Re: Barclaycard after Brexit.

I haven't heard anything from either HSBC (First Direct) or Lloyds - personal credit card and my UK business credit card - both at French addresses. My business card would be easy - that would just go to my business address - First Direct have never seemed stressed and indeed their system gives me a...

Re: What has pleased you today

Even got spares left over - okay may have forgotten one door as well - but a kitchen that works - looks nice and has storage. Looks like I almost knew what I was doing. Now to be brave - glass splashbacks- if...

Re: Supplements for joint pain

One of our dear old cats had a problem getting up stairs and jumping onto her chair, the Vet recommended acupuncture, sceptic me? noooo, to cut the story short it worked, not a kitten again, but much easier getting about, again cats do not know of the placebo effect so can only assume the treatment...
