Re: 45 Euro bog versus 150 Euro bog

Don't go soft and start reading instructions - where will the world end if we all start reading instructions.

But yes - a cheapo bog is fine for cloakrooms - but the difference in style/finish can be huge. I like a nice shaped bog

Mutuelle - Why?

I must be missing something - why would I pay for a Mutuelle? Its Insurance and someones making a profit - ergo a bookies by any other name - except I trust bookies. Admittedly I haven't seen a GP in 40 years - so I'm not exactly the market - but surely a jam jar or even Assurance Vie is a better pl...

Re: Regular maintenance or fix it when it breaks?

The car is take it to the garage every year - otherwise I can't remember when I last lifted a bonnet on a car. Engines I have an ability to totally bugger so leaving them alone is better than me fiddling. Thought I may have to do something with the ride on mower this year - but it started so obvious...

Re: Measuring - Imperial or metric?

A random selection depending on mood..... I talk in Imperial (its a couple of inches out - shift it a yard to the left) but usually measure in metric - if its a proper conversation with a chippy its a mix of millimetres (proper actually used a tape) and imperial (shove it a yard or so behind the tr...

Re: Mops!

Mops ..... the only thing I'd say is don't buy cheap. The Vileda always work - but they change their fitting every few years so buy at least one spare mop head - or just plain old fashioned string mop. The cheap plastic mops/handles from Action/Poundland etc are close to worthless - either the mop i...

Re: New toilet advice please

Largely mirror what Mysty advised - similar size - and swap like for like with the minimum effort or room for mistakes. So fill height (the water pipe/tap on the side of the cistern) - same evacuation type/height (some have a vertical outlet - most are horizontal) - the big pipe out the back. And mo...

Re: Peter Kay car share

It wasn't his best - had the odd moment but on the whole it felt like a good idea that hadn't worked. Without the back story of work/their relationship - it just felt like two actors trying to find something funny rather than a continuation of the show.

Re: Listening to music

It seems unusual if you're downloading from the same source as you stream from. But obviously depends on how and what you download. Youtube - and others - Google Youtube downloader there's hundreds - find one you like. Most of them simply "stream" at speed and convert the finished product - the qual...
