Re: CV19 long term affects worse than they thought

If I caught it then it was very mild I was asymptomatic but the confinement and social isolation has given me many of the "issues" that they mention: Psychosis, insomnia, chronic tiredness and mobility issues, ability to properly work, to concentrate, and even to take part in physical activities wil...

https://ie.cat-ret.assets.lidl/catalog4media/ie/article/333958/gallery/zoom/333958.jpg Lidl are/were selling a set of tools which includes a locking adjustable spanner. Has anyone found this kind of spanner useful? I'm really struggling to see a practical use for it that couldn't be done by mole gr...

Re: Air Travel

I will know for myself tomorrow but my neighbour said last week that he had heard the first flights from Gatwick, probably about 12 per day as opposed to 120 but I think he was way underestimating the latter as there have been over 900 flights a day in August. Regarding aircraft manufacture and the ...

Re: masonry paint

Brico-Depot budget Pliolite is as good as anything else, I used white mixed with brick dust on my facade in 2007 and not one single flake has come off the 1920's bricks. If you meant textured masonry paint then their budget Crepi, it can be watered down for spraying with une crepinette or brushing/r...

Re: Would you buy veg from a farm with a Covid outbreak

But please explain the difference between a nurse who lives in the nurses home attached to a hospital and a fruit picker/packer who lives in a workers' hostel attached to a farm. Do they still have those? I thought they were all redeveloped by the late 80's And even then they weren't bunk beds in d...

Re: Would you buy veg from a farm with a Covid outbreak

I know a guy in his 40's who has the system completely worked out, lives on benefits in a lovely rented house that the hard working owners had to give up and move back in with their family because they get less from working than he and his now wife get from working the system. He has only had one jo...

Re: Would you buy veg from a farm with a Covid outbreak

The champagne growers are hoping that local people will be au rendez-vous for the vendange as they are not allowed to bring in their usual seasonal workers. They must have some optimism  Come the second wave furlough payments will have to be earned by working under safe conditions on local farm...

Re: British tourists not wanted CV19 and all

There is a bit of a difference between killing flies, fleas and cockroaches and viruses. I had a rat infestation at the beginning of the confinement, not the best of times to be sharing with them, I eventually managed to poison them and knew what was to come, the smell of death for 2 weeks followed ...
