Re: Car Insurance - separate breakdown cover?

SP1DER - keep an eye on your ADAC renewal, it seems they're limiting ongoing cover to Germany only unless you have a German address. (ie no ADAC plus for people without German address). I had a letter explaining this (which I didn't receive due to being in the wrong country for my mail during covid)...

Re: Why are women so subordinate

I don’t disagree with what you say given that 90% still follow a patriarchal tradition but that doesn’t mean that it should stay like that or not be discussed at all, especially as in the article it gives the scary fact that some women didn’t even know they had a choice to keep their own name and d...

Due to the recent continual damp weather I notice today our spuds have the blight. Checked them carefully yesterday and there was no sign. Its amazing how fast it strikes and takes over. :(
Me too. I'm trying to save them but I'm not hopeful.

Re: Travel to UK

I was on the Dieppe - Newhaven ferry yesterday too (not sure if it was the same one as manonthemoon's husband). When we arrived at Newhaven there was an announcement for foot passengers to go to a meeting point to disembark, I suppose it could have been a standard pre-covid recorded announcement but...

Re: Controle Technique advisory help

The CT guy said it wasn't an issue but I'd like to get OH to have a look at it while I remember - maybe I'll just nag him a bit :innocent: , I'm sure he'll be able to find it.

Re: Controle Technique advisory help

He'd already taken it off the ramp so I didn't ask him to point it out. Had to take it to a different place because local man was all booked up until August. OH will be able to find it I think, he's a retired mechanic, but I just wanted to look clever

Re: Visit to the UK does S1 cover 100%?

I think it says on the S1 that you are entitled to have treatment in the UK, as far as I understood there was no suggestion of being charged and I also don't think that a UK issued EHIC is for use in the UK. I always carry a copy of my S1 when I go back to UK to show that I'm entitled to treatment i...
