Re: carte de sejour application

The French don't lose their maiden name on marriage - it is shown on the passport and ID card. Strange one that though. I've never been refused medical care because my passport showed my married name. I've never been asked for a passport at all since I had my carte vitale (which is also in my marrie...

Re: carte de sejour application

Do you know of anyone who has been detained for not having ID on them, let alone received a punishment?

Re: carte de sejour application

Perhaps important in Bubbles story is that a driving licence is not considered as an identity document - despite the hoops that some of us may have had to get one. So a G asking for an identity document could and possibly would demand a CdS/ identity card or passport. The fact that you are not lega...

Re: carte de sejour application

I'll repeat a simple fact yet again. If you already have a cds permanent (or as it seems from the online system, any previous residence permit if you've been here for more than five years) it means your resources will not be tested. This is a huge difference between having one and not having one. I ...

Re: Hot off the press, the official online site to apply for Titre de séjour has just opened

I don't think the access across systems is anywhere near that level yet but I expect it'll get there eventually, at least for government departments. It's only since PUMa came in that CPAM have any access to our revenue info and I'm not sure it works both ways otherwise why would we need to tick a b...

You are complicating things. I only posted to amend my mistake of two years to fourteen months.
But you said after that transition period (irrelevant how long it is) there may be a charge, so I was just pointing out that there wouldn't be.

It seems odd to me that it isn't official ID - especially when you have to give your fingerprints for it, just as you do for an ID card. I was assured by my prefecture that it isn't though - it's simply proof of my right to stay in France.

Re: Hot off the press, the official online site to apply for Titre de séjour has just opened

A question. Tomorrow I’m going on a train journey using a Carte Aventage. It says that I have to have a piece d’identité. Does that mean a passport or would a CdS (or even a TdS) be accepted? Only your passport is official ID but the reality is that many people accept a carte de sejour or driving l...

Re: New system for residence permit required after brexit

W I do have one question though which is why is it free if it's brexit with the current WA and 119 euros with no deal? Because, for two years we continue to be in the EU. It is the 'transition period'. There may well be a charge after two years though... I just realised a mistake - the transition p...
